This week we were hard at work contacting a lot, and knocking doors. And we had a neat experience with it. Our area is huge if I didn't say that before, so we were thinking about what part of the area we needed to work in that day. We prayed to know the area and specifically a street where we needed to work. And after, we both looked at the map, and picked a street that seemed to be standing out against the others. So, we went to that street, (only getting a bit lost on the way haha..the streets here are twisted) and it turned out to have houses only on one side. But, we knocked almost every door on that street, and all of the people that answered agreed to listen or schedule another time we could return! It was great, and just is another test of how the Holy Ghost works and guides our lives.
We also drank coconut milk straight from the coconut, (which normally isn't the best haha) but it was so good and refreshing haha.
One of our investigators, C, came to chruch again this Sunday, and on Saturday, we actually ran into him walking on the street! It was a blessing because he has almost no time, and we were able to talk with him and answer questions for about an hour. He is really just so ready and open, and is looking for god more in his life. He knows a lot about the Bible from his past, but feels like he is missing something now after not attending any church last year. So, he is liking chuch a lot, and we hopefully will have time to meet with him more this week.
And, well I can't remember much else right now haha. So I'll end with some awesome scriptures I read this week:
2 Nephi 2:11
11 For it must needs be, that there is an opposition in all things... righteousness could not be brought to pass, neither wickedness, neither holiness nor misery, neither good nor bad. Wherefore, all things must needs be a compound in one; wherefore, if it should be one body it must needs remain as dead, having no life neither death, nor corruption nor incorruption, happiness nor misery, neither sense nor insensibility.
D&C 29:39
39 And it must needs be that the devil should tempt the children of men, or they could not be agents unto themselves; for if they never should have bitter they could not know the sweet—
D&C 122:7
7 And if thou shouldst be cast into the pit, or into the hands of murderers, and the sentence of death passed upon thee; if thou be cast into the deep; if the billowing surge conspire against thee; if fierce winds become thine enemy; if the heavens gather blackness, and all the elements combine to hedge up the way; and above all, if the very jaws of hell shall gape open the mouth wide after thee, know thou, my son, that all these things shall give thee experience, and shall be for thy good.
I love these scriptures because they talk about how we have to have hard things in life to know the good things, and really how perfect Heavenly Father's plan is for us.
