Tudo De Bom

The week was great, with a lot of great things happening!!

- Divisions: we had divisions with some Sisters in Taubate. I stayed in the area with sister Costa and Sister Lima, While Sister Enout and Reid did divisions with Sisters there.  Sister Costa and Lima are both fresh to the mission; they arrived just one week before.

It was great, and we had a lot of cool teaching and finding experiences.

Isabel got baptized!!! She is just awesome.  She is the mom of Anna and Dudu who both got baptized recently.  And how it went was,

Isabel: Sisters, when am I going to get baptized?
Us: What!? Um, whenever you want!  This week?
Izabel: Okay!! I am ready now to get baptized!

And yep, basically she is the best.  She was the example for her kids in the first place, always going to church.  She just wasn't ready before.  But, she finally realized she was prepared!  Her baptism was very special and sweet, and the spirit was so strong.  Very neat experience.
-Another miracle was during Izabel's baptism.  We had to descend to Pinda for the baptism (we got a new pool but it is freezing here) and were in 2 cars.  We had on extra spot, so we invited Celia, who was working in the offie place of Irmao Vitor to come with us.  She is sweet, and always asking us questions when we are there, and she came to church before and liked it.  She came, and loved the baptism! And on Sunday, she came to church again despite saying she couldn't make it the night before!  She changed her work schedule to be able to come, and just absolutely loved it.  Seriously, the Lord's hand is in everything!

- Zone conference: It was super awesome and fun as well as uplifting and spiritual.  Well, except for the part when President Miller called me, Sister Enout and a few other Elders to give 10 minute trainings- 10 minutes before it started!!  Yep, just imagine us struggling to prepare a training in 10 minutes haha.  Definitely a nervous rush... But, it all worked out in the end.  After the conference, President made a BBQ lunch of hamburgers (ah, so good!) and we did activities.  Soccer, basketball, etc.  And, an arm wrestling context! And yes, I competed of course haha.  It was hilarious.  The last elder who won got to go agains President (previous BYU football player)... and he lost haha. It was super entertaining.

And many more great things are happening, with no time to write it all. So....

Boa Semana!!

Mudanças em Campos

Olá!
This week there were a few changes to mix things up a bit more than normal:
1. so in case you were wondering if it ever is cold in Brazil, the answer is yes! Seriously, the weather turned to freezing this week haha. And I am not sure if I am just accustomed to sweating every day so it feels more cold, or if its actually cold haha. No but really, I had to buy a coat this week, so it tells ya its cold. The weather drops 10 degress in 30 minutes once the sun goes down. Good stuff.
2. Sister Reis arrived this week as the new transfer started. She is from Minas, Brasil, and is super cute.
3. Sister Knudson got transferred a few days later! not planned, but one other sister got sent home from a sickness, and because we had 4 here in my area, she got sent there. It was a very quick change, and a sad one, but she is a great missionary and will rock it in her other area as well.
4. We are now a trio again! Its always changing here in Campos haha. But its good.

Other news:
-Our investgator Luiz is awesome and just improving his life a ton. The gospel sure does change lives.
-Dudu had his birthday, and we made a cake for him as a surprise at the end of an activity. Love that kid.

And the challenge this week is to evaluate yourself personally and make a goal of one thing you can better. (man I don't even know if this sentence makes sense haha sorry guys).

Amo vocês!!

Uma Corrida!!

Olá!

This week was great and busy!  Honestly, can't remember what happened what day...but here's some main points haha:

- Sister Barradas left for her misison in the Dominican Republic because her visa came.  Sad to have her leave but we are excited for her!

- I was a little sick this week, but back to normal no woo woo!

- Walked pretty much all of the biggest hills (in both areas since we were a trio this week) in one day. Death haha but at least its a major leg workout.

- One of our investigators, G, is completely turning his life around and it is amazing to see!  Stopped drinking, cut his super long hair and beard, is looking for a job, etc.  The gospel changes lives!!

- A few of our recent converts had a few setbacks this week, but are doing well again.

- Dias das Maes! (Mother's Day!) I got to call home and talk with the fam which is the best!!

- The cute family of 6 came to church again on Sunday and loved it.  They are super cute kids.  They told us they are going to move to another city this week but already looked up the address for church there!

And, I'll share on of my favorite scriptures:  Alma 37:6 "through small and simple things, Great things are brought to pass"

Feliz!!!

Feliz!!!

This week was super busy, but super great!! Highlights: (more like things I remember)
*We had a service project at Irma Terezinna's house!  We did some major cleaning and organizing in preparation for her son moving into the new part of the house they built.  Good Stuff!

*Calling to see where Hunter is going to serve a mission!!! Wow, I am so excited and happy for you Hunt!  Pretty much made my week!  At least there is a very good reason/excuse that we won't see each other for 3 1/2 years...yikes haha.

* Du Du (Carlos Eduardo) got baptized!!  Man, this kid is stellar.  Before his sister Ana got baptized last week, he was a bit unsure if he wanted to, but after Ana's baptism he wanted to get baptized the next day!  He got baptized on Wednesday and it was so great.  Many miracles happened to make it actually occur, and it was an amazing baptism.  But it is greater to see his happiness after!  He is always willing to help, always greets everyone, and is always ready to crack a joke.  Love this kid!!

*We had a district meeting and later that day, Sister Enout and I traveled to Sao Paulo again for leadership counsel.  There was bit more excitement that night because there was a cockroach in the room we slept in haha...Sister Enout almost broke my arm screaming and yanking me because of her phobia hahahaha.  We both didn't sleep very much that night, and I think I killed about 3 cockroaches in my dreams for her LOL.

*We had a youth activity on Saturday that was super awesome.  We brought Larissa and her 3 brothers and they had a great time.  We did games and activities, a message, and met a new kid who joined us after watching for a bit.

* Sunday was one of my favorite Sunday's in Campos!  We had a great turnout of everyone and 11 of the people we are teaching there!  It was an awesome testimony meeting with a strong spirit.  Man, it was so great and I didn't stop smiling the whole day.

Jacob 4:8 Scripture of the day :)
"Behold, great and marvelous are the works of the Lord.  How unsearchable are the depths of the mysteries of him; and it is impossible that man should find out all his ways.  An no man knoweth of his ways save it be revealed unto him; wherefore, brethren, despise not the revelations of God."

Conferência de Zona e Milagres

Well if your not convinced already.  I'll say it again:  I LOVE being a missionary!!

Here's this weeks highlights -

We had zone conference with President and Sister Miller this week.  It was super good and fun to see all the missionaries in my zone again.  Arriving there was an adventure because we had to wake up at 4am to catch the bus that would get us there in time.  And when we were about to board, Sister Enout realized she forgot her document... and couldn't board the bus.  So, it was crazy because Sister Knudsen and I took the bus we planned on while we hoped and prayed that Enout and Barradas could get on another bus.  It all turned out good in the end because Sister Enout and Sister Barradas sprinted back to the apartment and back to catch another bus for a neighboring city and then for the actual city in time for the conference.  Good times!!

Small miracle happened when we were headed to a lesson with a new investigator.  We received a text message that said she had to take her babies to the doctors and to reschedule and then another one that said somethings about  returning at night (or so we thought) We were in the area/ neighborhood of where she lived because she doesn't have an address) talking/walking etc with everyone before another lesson later.  And then Sister Knudsen pointed out that we were on her street! (Coincidence No!!!) We laughed and commented on how cool it was that we somehow entered her street and kept talking and contacting until we reached the end.  It is not a very long road and its not a through road.  So we walked back and before leaving the street a little boy called to us asking if we were the girls wanting to visit his sister.  We were surprised and said yes, is she home?  The girl E then came to the door and let us in!  We were talking and I asked but wait, weren't you going to the doctors right now? And she explained she would go later that night and said we could visit her at the moment.  We had understood her messages incorrectly, but not by chance, had ended up at her house anyway!!  She has 3 month old twins, one girl and one boy that are the CUTEST babies.  And we were able to teach her and her mom.  It was a very sweet lesson.  And I am grateful for the miracles that led us there.

Ana got baptized!! She is the cutest and her baptism was very sweet.  We could just see her countenance change and she is so happy!  Ah, I love the gospel.

Sunday was awesome and there were lots of people that came!
We had 8 friends there and there including the cute kids we are teaching.
They just love church and the 13 year old girl loves reading the Book of Mormon and loves singing the hymns.  Cutest!!

Boa Semana!!  Amo Voces!!
